Journal club reflection (B)

Kinetic analysis in healthy and hip dysplastic German shepherd dogs. (Dysplasia, 2019)

The journal club presentation was a group presentation in front of the lecturer and our peers. We had to evaluate and discuss an issue from an article provided. The article we got was about hip analysis German Shepherd dogs who have healthy hips and ones who suffer from hip dysplasia.

I found this assignment particularly challenging as I am not good working in groups, and I find it easier to work alone. Also, this presentation had to be presented and I am not very confident with public speaking. However, I was particularly engaged in the topic as a German shepherd lover and owner myself, so I found it easy to engage. This set me off on a good foot and I really enjoyed looking to the subject and it is something I would consider researching in the future.

Overall, the presentation went well and the feedback we were provided with was very helpful and enabled us to see which area we could improve on for future tasks. Furthermore, I would say in future I will practice my presentation with my group beforehand as this would make it run more smoothly and make sure that everyone knows which sections they are meant to be reading.

In our findings we did not find any significant findings to suggest trends in dysplastic and non-dysplastic dogs.
