Functional Anatomy Workbook Reflections (I)
The functional anatomy workbook has various different section in it that follow the course of the module as we cover it. Each section has questions to test what we have learn throughout each section. It has a variety of short and long answers. Furthermore, there are sections, such as range of motion and palpation where a video is required. This is particularly hard as we have to put the skills we have learnt in lessons into practice. (Genie Tutors, 2019)
I found that various sections of the workbook were harder than others due to my understanding of the subjects. For example, the first aid section I found to be fairly simple due to my previous experience and training in this field. Although my training is in human first aid, some of the concepts still apply to canine. Therefore, I found adapting the knowledge was fairy simple.
On the other hand, sections such as static assessment of a picture I found to be challenging as this was new to me and you only had a picture to work from rather than a physical dog. However, after studying and understanding the various terms and planes of the dog, such as dorsal, rostral and caudal views, this became easier to explain the specific sections of the dog I was trying to explain. These key words are also vital for the future in my career.
