Exam Reflections (F)
In semester A, I completed two exams, anatomy and biomechanics. I felt fairly confident going into both exams, but definitely more so in the anatomy. This is due to me being more confident in sort answer and multiple choice questions, rather than long questions like in the biomechanics exam. I am due to get my results in February and am hoping for the best.
In preparation for the exams I felt like I spent longer on the anatomy than the biomechanics due to the sheer amount of content I needed to revise. Whilst I am glad I was so confident in the anatomy, in hindsight I would have spent slightly longer working on my long answer writing skills and biomechanics material.
The anatomy exam wasn’t too difficult, I had revised the majority of the content in the exam, however, there were some questions that tripped me up. To rectify this in the future I will do more wider reading on the subject to try and avoid this.
The biomechanics exams was partly mathematics based which worked in my favour due to my previous A Level experience in maths. I feel like this made me more confident with the exam as it can boost my grade up if I have not done so well in the long questions. Furthermore, there were two sets of long questions that we had to choose from which tripped me up as I knew answers to a few of them from both sets. This left me feeling stuck as to which set to pick, ultimately, I had to choose which one I thought I knew in more detail. Due to this I am sceptical of my result as the heavily weighted question wasn’t fully understood.
In future I will plan my time more effectively and make sure that I work on the areas that I am aware are weaker than others in order to move forward. (Smtmagazine.co.uk, 2014)
